New Testament Baptist Church

Statement on Racism

Dear NTBC family & friends, Since our beginning in 1979 we have been a church founded on and seeking to be governed by the authority of the Bible, God’s Holy Word.  In it’s pages God clearly reveals to His creation who He is and consequently who His people should be.  Part of that revelation is that He is no respecter of persons.  Acts 17:26 says that God “hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on the face of the earth..”.  We affirm the Biblical truth that there is truly only one race.  Sinful man has perverted many of God’s truths and, as a result, throughout history there has been the awful reality of man’s inhumanity towards and oppression of his fellow man on the basis of skin color, culture, language, etc.  Sadly, this wrong has also been perpetrated at times by the churches of Jesus Christ. This ungodly and sinful treatment of others always crys out with the need to be addressed and corrected.  Today, I desire to state that New Testament Baptist Church is unequivocally opposed to any and all forms of racism and is committed to doing our best to work towards the solution to this problem.  We are committed to following the heart, example, and teaching of our Lord and Saviour in openly affirming, embracing, and welcoming every individual without regard to color or any other outwardly distinguishing characteristic.  “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”  Galatians 5:14  “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ”
